Obama does not get IT

Please see message from "US-India Friendship" org below.

( Bush did not get IT, Now Obama does not get IT - INTERNATIONAL ( Islamic ) TERRORISM. Recent moves by Obama administration seem to indicate amateurish
behaviour. 'Moderate Taliban' is an oxymoron. There are no good and bad terrorists. If he thinks he can buy peace with money WITHOUT preconditions then he has
failed to understand the nature of Islamic Terror including ignoring recent history. Funding Pakistan without oversight is funding Terrorism against India. Or should
I shudder at the thought of US encouraging the sponge effect! )

The issue before us is the Biden-Lugar Bill called the "Enhanced Partnership with Pakistan Bill", which will soon be reintroduced in the Senate as the Kerry-Lugar Bill. We are in favor of US aid to Pakistan. However, there is a need to tighten some of the provisions of the Bill in order to ensure that enhanced aid to Pakistan is tied to Pakistan’s performance in effectively shutting down all the terrorist camps functioning in that country and which are a threat to the US, India and the free world.

Please click
http://usindiafriendship.net/  to read the background document titled, "Indian American Task Force (IATF) - MumbaiTerror Attacks - Information Document (PDF), prepared for Members of the U.S. Congress".

The site also provides two template letters to write to your Senators:

1.Template #1 Letter to your Senator - $ Aid to Pakistan Requires Accountability

2. Template #2 Letter to your Senator - Enhanced Partnership with Pakistan Bill: Suggested Amendments, (The text of the Biden-Lugar Bill to which references are made in this letter is at

http://lugar.senate.gov/sfrc/pdf/Pakistan.pdf, if you want to look at it). Since Template #2 is a long letter, if it's not possible to send it as an email, please fax it or send it by snail mail

Template #2 has the following two links on the dangers the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba poses to the US (as much as to India) which you may want to read before you forward the letter to your Senators:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/4550144/CIA-warns-Barack-Obama-that-British-terrorists-are-the-biggest-threat-to-the-US.html  and http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-us-pakistan_bdmar08,0,263744.story

The best approach will be to send the first letter immediately to your two Senators and then follow up after three days with the second letter.

The bill will initially be considered by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee which has the following 18 members:

Chairman, John F. Kerry (D - MA)
Ranking Member, Richard G Lugar (R - IN)
Christopher J Dodd (D - CT)
Russell D Feingold (D - WI)
Barbara Boxer (D - CA)
Bob Corker (R-TN)
Robert Menendez (D - NJ)
Johnny Isakson (R - GA)
Benjamin L. Cardin (D-- MD)
Robert P Casey Jr. (D - PA)
James E Risch (R - ID)
Jim Webb (D - VA)
Jim DeMint (R - SC)
Jeanne Shaheen (D - NH)
Edward E Kaufmann (D - DE)
John Barrasso (R - WY)
Roger F Wicker (R - MS)
Kristen E Gillibrand (D - NY)

Please give priority to the above-named 18 Senators. Their contact details can be obtained from
http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

From this site you can get contact information for all the other Senators too. There is no harm in sending the two letters to the other Senators.

Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

Cheers,
